Now his sole follower, her only option is to flee from her tribe and find refuge in the only place that will protect her, the Centurion Army- a place dedicated to killing gods and protecting Mudthur’s mirror fragments from the Vondur. 

Kanína is placed under Eilif, the highest mage of the army and leader of Scouting Regiment I. He works to train the chaos in her blood, understanding her unique powers may be the only ones that could save their province, Thalor. Eilif and her slowly become closer, developing forbidden feelings a houthflur holder can never act on. Kanína finds new purpose among her regiment, and within the army. Despite this, the guilt of leaving Kristopher eats away at her. Was Orlog going to treat him how he treats her? When all seems to be falling apart, she must make a decision: Risk everything she has to save her brother or let go of the past in hopes of a better future.
